This category uses HM Land Registry Price Paid Data. It measures how many sales have been recorded recently and how stable prices have been, usually at sector or district level because a single postcode rarely has enough sales. Price level never enters the Area Measure. An expensive street is not treated as a better street.
A sold-price chart tells you what buyers have actually paid, not what an agent is asking. Thin evidence means the typical figure is standing on a handful of transactions. Busy, stable evidence means there is more to compare against. Both matter when you are trying to read a listing in context.
You should not treat a high price as a quality mark, and we do not. You should know whether there is enough recent sale evidence to read the local market at all. That is why this category rewards recorded activity and stability, then shows the price figures separately so you can judge affordability yourself.
